People's Bank launched a new advertising strategy featuring platform ads at 28 Metro-North train stations in CT from New Haven to Greenwich. It's a milestone for People's which has focused the majority of its advertising in more traditional venues such as TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, and billboards. The new transit ads build on People's core positioning line "It's Possible. At People's." with key messages of particular interest to Fairfield County commuters riding to and from New York City. People's has the expertise to help consumers achieve their goals with investment services including college planning, discount brokerage, investment guidance, retirement planning and wealth management. People's launched its 2002 marketing campaign in February with ads that capture positive moments in people's lives and demonstrate that People's has the products and services to help them reach their goals. "We think it's important to take advantage of the full range of advertising media and this opportunity allows us to reach a very important and targeted market," said Cynthia P. Belak, first vice president, Marketing. An example of one of the five different ads is: "It's possible to give your children the education they deserve. To have a realistic college savings plan that makes sense for you in the long term. When it comes to college planning, there's a lot that's possible. At People's." The new ads are slated to run through 2002. People's is a diversified financial services company providing commercial, consumer, insurance and investment services. Founded in 1842, it is the largest state chartered bank in CT with managed assets of $14 billion, 150 branches and 230 ATM's. People's is a leader in consumer and commercial banking, residential lending, insurance sales, supermarket banking and is the nation's 15th largest issuer of MasterCard and Visa credit cards.
