Quit Like a Champion Beginning November 19th - Great American Smokeout

November 11, 2015

Every year, on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout. They may use the date to make a plan to quit, or plan in advance and then quit smoking that day. The Great American Smokeout event challenges people to stop using tobacco and helps people know about the many tools they can use to help them quit and stay quit.

Learn how to quit smoking one step at a time. Mall and store employees, Meriden residents and "neighbors" who would like to be tobacco free are invited to WALK and TALK starting in the Westfield Mall Food Court at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday Nov. 19th.

Geralyn Laut, a Tobacco Treatment Specialist with the Meriden Health Department will provide tips and strategies for quitting and information about on-going support services. That will be offered FREE to participants.

Sponsored by the MERIDEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT in collaboration with The Midstate Chamber of Commerce. For more info contact Geralyn Laut at (203) 537-0061
