The chamber is proud to support Noah's A.R.K. (Awesome Recreation for Kids) of Hope.

Noah Paul Bourdon was a beautiful 14 month old child who tragically lost his life in a playground accident on August 11, 2006. He was a happy baby who always had a smile on his face. Noah embodied the best of each of his parents. He was a gentle giant with the same demeanor as his father with enticing brown eyes and features that resembled his mother's.

Noah's infectious smile touched many Meriden residents at countless events throughout the city. Christian, Noah's father, is the city's Park & Recreation Supervisor who helped organize the events, while his wife Sarah, often volunteered or attended.

Noah's ARK of Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to honor the memory of this very special boy who has touched many lives. The committee made of up of family and friends hopes to raise $100,000, which would cover the remaining cost to help to build a safe, handicap accessible playground at Hubbard Park, the city's nicest park. The existing structure has been deemed unsafe and out-dated. Ironically, Christian, along with the City Council committee, has been working for a year trying to raise funds to develop this playground.

Christian and Sarah have both dedicated their professional lives to the children of Meriden and surrounding areas. Although this is a tragic and devastating time in their lives, they hope to find solace in other children's joy. They feel there is no better way to honor their beautiful son than to watch other children enjoy a playground built in Noah's name.
