Peggy M. Brennan, Economic Development Director of the City of Meriden, has been appointed to the Special Contaminated Property Remediation and Insurance Fund (SCPRIF) Advisory Board of the State of Connecticut by Speaker of the House, Moira K. Lyons. Jim Abrams, State Representative for the 83rd assembly district, nominated Peggy. The Advisory Board consists of professionals with expertise in financing, remediation, and redevelopment who review applications and submit recommendations for funding to the Commissioner of DECD. The program provides assistance with the investigation of environmental conditions of contaminated sites and ultimately encourages redevelopment that is beneficial to CT communities. Assistance is provided through low-interest loans. Marie E. McGuinness, P.E., A.I.C.P, at DECD, administers the program.
