Yoga4Change Gets a Home

December 21, 2014

It started with a couple of empty classrooms, and before long, the generosity and visions of local partners made it a reality. The Women and Families Center provided the space from 2 old classrooms on their second floor and City Councilor Miguel Castro lent his expertise to help us ponder our options.

Meriden's CUNO Foundation was the first to get on board with a generous contribution that allowed us to take down walls, rewire, and install much-needed new flooring.

The Meriden/Wallingford United Way was next to lend a hand - lending expertise to designing the finishing touches and including our effort in their annual Day of Caring.

Through their efforts, we were connected with the amazing team of Canberra Corporation volunteers, who took over and transformed our space into a home.

Last but definitely not least, the generosity of Ronald McDonald House Charities funded the purchase of an impressive set of yoga equipment that will allow Y4C to serve students of all abilities and offer special "restorative" yoga sessions for stress reduction and trauma recovery.

We can't thank you enough for our amazing new home!
