The Wilcox Robotics Club is, for the first time, planning to compete in a regional robot building competition on its own. Last year, Platt, Maloney, Wolcott and Wilcox high school students were part of the same team. This year, Wilcox wanted to have its own team, but they would have to raise $3,900 by the registration deadline of December 15th. The team had already raised $1,100 and were hoping to receive a corporate sponsorship for the rest. Unfortunately, the team was unable to raise the necessary funds but they are an optimistic group and still plan to build a robot and display it at Wilcox and at various events throughout the city.
