MidState Medical, Westfield Shoppingtown and the Record-Journal are co-sponsoring a new program to promote health awareness. Now mall walkers will have the chance to join an official club. For several years, dozens of people have gathered at the Shoppingtown to walk their way into shape, and this free program is designed to encourage them to do just that. As part of an incentive to join and walk, prizes and discounts from participating retailers will be offered to members. In addition to quarterly breakfasts and recognition of individuals achieving milestones for total distance, members will meet on the last Monday of each month at center court at 9:00am to listen to health and wellness presentations by MidState Medical Center. All age groups are welcome.
