In the very near future, MidState Medical Center will start construction of its new 9,000-square-foot addition. As Halide Caine, construction marketing manager for O,R &L Construction of Branford indicated that, since the building was of prefabricated metal, it would go up rather quickly. Space constraints in the medical records department, the engineering department and some administrative offices will be soon be alleviated. The new construction will also allow risk management staff and the human resources benefits section to move out of office trailers. The Planning Commission approved the addition and emergency department expansion last year.
