August 2, 2000The annual fall campaign for the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford is in full swing and, according to Associate Director Nikki Thomas-Kelly, the hopes of increasing profits is key. In addition to traditional techniques, Jack Brooks, Executive Director of the United Way, said that some individuals and companies are being sent invitations to joining the "Leadership Circle". Also in the works is a coin collection campaign for everyone in the community in the effort to "give us your change." The more traditional methods of individual employees with payroll deductions will be also sought. This year's campaign chairperson, Winnie Leary, also noted that the whole idea of the agency is to spread the wealth were it can do the most good.
