MidState Medical Center Honored by United Way of Meriden & Wallingford

May 11, 2009

The United Way of Meriden & Wallingford recently held their annual recognition program where MidState Medical Center and its employees were graciously honored for serving as a leader in community service. "This program is celebrating people who have given, advocated, and volunteered in our communities," said executive director Jim Ieronimo.

MidState Medical Center was the recipient of the Jack A. Grebb Community Spirit Award for its commitment to the community through volunteer efforts, adopting a total of 19 families through the United Way's Holiday Program, and collecting remarkable amounts of food through a hospital-wide food drive. The hospital was also acknowledged for its involvement in a recent community needs assessment and as a silver level donor to the LIVE UNITED campaign.

"Let MidState be an inspiration to others," said Sarah Chorzempa, Coordinator of the United Way's Volunteer Center. Volunteer Services Manager, Diamond Belejack, was acknowledged as "Outstanding Campaign Coordinator" for her efforts in unifying the MidState family in support of the campaign. Recognition should also be given to Cassandra Crowal, Director of Administrative Services, who sits on the Board of Directors.

The entire MidState Medical Center family wishes to express its gratitude for these honors.
