BL Companies Awarded Gas Transmission Project in Riverhead, NY.

BL Companies was recently awarded preconstruction services for a three-mile long gas transmission project in Riverhead, NY. This contract was awarded by National Grid (formerly KeySpan Energy Delivery). National Grid is the second largest electricity and gas company in the nation with a service territory that covers more than 30,000 square miles. The project will involve mapping existing utilities along public rights-of-way including record research, subsurface utility engineering (SUE) and land surveying; as well as route-selection/design services. "We are very pleased to be awarded this contract by National Grid," says Jennifer Marks, LS, director, land surveying, BL Companies, and a principal of the firm. "We recently completed two similar projects for KeySpan Energy Delivery and we look forward to continuing our relationship with National Grid. Our land survey, transportation engineering and public infrastructure departments will work collaboratively on this project to deliver integrated design and related services."
