Pyramid Time Systems Challenges Employees in Biggest Loser Style Contest

Martha Gallagher, SPHR, Human Resources Manager, Pyramid Time Systems recently shared this information with the Greater Meriden Chamber's Health & Wellness Council. One of the goals of the council is to help spread the message about healthy workplace policies and events - feel free to share yours or to borrow some of the ideas you see!

Pyramid's Biggest Loser challenge: The company is on its 4th "round" of the competition. Challenges run from 9 � 16 weeks - 12 weeks appears to be a good amount of time to keep people motivated (although some weeks are so hard!!).

$25 is collected from anyone that wants to participate and is put into a cash prize pool depending on how many participants we have. Currently, prizes include: $200 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd, $50 for 3rd and $25 for 4th. In addition, they just started charging $1 per pound for anyone that gains weight or chooses to "opt out" of weighing in one week because they know they've been bad!

Every other week they have a salad bar lunch and people sign up to bring an item for salad bar. We've had some delicious healthy foods brought in like crab salad and mango salsa!
