Balfour Foundation Bridges Meriden Public Schools with MxCC

The "Bridges to the Future" program is a dual-enrollment high-school-for-college-credit program between Middlesex Community College and the Meriden Public Schools. MxCC teamed up with both Maloney and Platt High School to develop a new curriculum for high school seniors in need of particular coursework to prepare them for successful entry into college, while also giving them the opportunity to earn college credits. The $90,000 multi-year grant is through the generosity of the Lloyd G. Balfour Foundation, Bank of America N.A., trustee. The program began in the 2015-16 academic year, with a second cohort enrolling in 2016-17.MxCC professors Adam Floridia and Donna Bontatibus, with assistance from Teresa Cull, implemented the program in collaboration with Larry Boada, Jason Gonzalez, Denise Carr, Cynthia van Fleet and Wojciech Kole from Meriden. Additional MxCC support came from Terry McNulty and Trent Wright.
