In November, the first of four workshops was held by the Y.M.C.A. Arts Center Committee. They are open to anyone interested and intend to inform representatives from Centerbook Architects and Planners Inc. about different arts and retail activities in the city, as well as plans for a downtown arts center. The 15 or so participants included Meriden Arts Council President Steve Robichaud, Gallery 53 Directory Brenda Payn, City Councilors Mike Rohde and George McGoldrick, Bruce Miller and John Benigni of the Y.,M.C.A. and Dr. Peter Burch of Chorale Connecticut. The next workshop was scheduled for December 19th to discuss the number of buildings and review architects' plans.
