Volunteer Income Tax Assistance at Meriden Public Library

Meriden Public Library is hosting the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program through to April 15, 2015. V.I.T.A., which is sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service, provides free help to taxpayers who cannot afford professional assistance or who have tax questions. Assistance in preparing Connecticut state tax forms will also be available.

You may call (860) 612-3983 Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm to make an appointment.

The sessions will all take place in Meriden Public Library's Marion Cook Room. The schedule is as follows:

- MONDAYS from 5:30 TO 8:00 PM: March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23 - WEDNESDAYS from 5:30 TO 8:00 PM: March 4, March 11, March 18, March 25, April 1, April 8, April 15 - SATURDAYS from 10:00 AM TO 1:00 PM: March 7, March 14, March 21, March 28, April 4, April 11.

V.I.T.A. volunteers alert taxpayers to special credits and deductions for which they may be eligible. People interested in attending the V.I.T.A. program can stop in the library and pick up a list of the necessary documents you will need to bring.
