August 1, 2000
According to Marcia Trotta, Library Director, the Meriden Public Library will prepare an oral history of Meriden. People whose memories extend over the decades are invited to be interviewed on videotape. The plan, which originated with a suggestion from Mayor Joseph Marinan, provides that all interviews will be transcribed as well as video-recorded. For Meriden's Bicentennial in 2006, an edited version of the historical remembrances will be available. Applications for both storytellers and volunteers are very much needed; and, if you or your friends or your family have a story to tell, you can reach Marcia Trotta at 203-238-2344.
