BOOK CLUB SPOTLIGHTING POLISH AUTHOR IN MAY AT MERIDEN LIBRARY

April 20, 2009

In May, Meriden Public Library is spotlighting the Polish culture in Meriden. The book club selection for this month is "Quo Vadis" by Henryk Sienkiewicz. The book club will meet on Saturday, May 16 at noon in the Griffin Room. This month's selection can be found on a display near the Information Desk. Bring your lunch and enjoy a friendly discussion. Then on Saturday, May 23, at 1:00 pm, enjoy the movie starring Robert Taylor, Deborah Kerr, Leo Genn, and Peter Ustinov.

This "Telling Passages" program is part of the library's focus on the Polish culture in Meriden during the month of May. The library is participating in the World of Words 2009 program. World of Words (WOW) is a program of the Connecticut Center for the Book at Hartford Public Library, an affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, and celebrates Connecticut's cultural and literary roots.

The program is free and all are invited. Contact the Community Services Department at (203) 630-6349 or visit the library's website at www.meridenlibrary.org and click on "Adult events" to reserve a seat.
