Meriden Public Library will conclude its schedule ...

Meriden Public Library will conclude its schedule of discussions for the MERIDEN READS 2005: THE ODYSSEY project on Tuesday, June 7 at 4:00 p.m. The subject to be discussed will be the role of the gods. John Kenney will serve as moderator. The discussion is free and the public is invited to attend. The discussions are suitable for high school students and adults. Multiple copies of THE ODYSSEY are available for borrowing. For free registration call 203-630-6349.

Meriden Public Library also has a number of upcoming presentations - mark your calendars! The library will present a travel program called "Traveling up the Hudson and St. Lawrence Rivers" on Monday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. Meriden resident Shane Rood will be the guest speaker.

Meriden Public Library will present a program called "Neurology and Children with Attention Deficit Disorder and Learning Disabilities" on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. Dr. William F. Weiss, D.C., D.A.B.C.N., will be the guest speaker. Dr. Weiss, a chiropractic neurologist will discuss brain imbalances/ brain asymmetry and how these conditions can affect children with special needs. Attention deficit disorder and learning disabilities will be the main topics of discussion. Current research studies and theories will be explored in detail including treatment recommendations. Dr. Weiss is affiliated with Labbadia Carroccia Chiropractic Offices in Middletown.

Meriden Public Library will host a special appearance by former area resident Mary Charles on Tuesday, June 28 at 7:00 p.m. Mary Charles is in fact a husband and wife team, Mary Hadley and Charles Martin. Together, they are the author of the Casey Forbes suspense series.
