The Meriden Public Library now provides access to ReferenceUSA, a superb database of 12 million+ businesses, including public, private, nonprofit, and government listings. With ReferenceUSA you can create a customized list of businesses defined by geographic area, size by sales or employees, line of business or SIC code, or by any of 20 other parameters. Results can be sorted and printed or downloaded either in brief form or in full detail. The database also has a "proximity Factor" which you can select to show all businesses in a radius of 1/10th mile to 5 miles of a specific business, or up to a 20 mile radius by SIC code. ReferenceUSA is free and searchable on any of the Meriden Public Library's 14 internet computers.
