The Great Books Reading and Discussion Program will begin its new season at Meriden Public Library beginning Thursday, September 11 at 10:30 a.m. The group will meet on alternate Thursdays. According to Marjorie Hackbarth, spokesperson for the group, the season will open with a discussion of Evelyn Waugh's short story "Compassion". Each of the nine men and women in the group is asked to take a turn moderating one or two sessions throughout the year.This is one in a year long series of special programs and exhibits in celebration of the Meriden Public Library's Centennial.
