New Opportunities Seeking Tax Preparation Volunteers

New Opportunities of Greater Meriden is seeking volunteers to assist with tax preparation for low income individuals and families through our IRS sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Volunteers are not required to have experience in preparing taxes and will receive access to IRS training materials. Volunteers are only asked to commit to one 3.5 hour volunteer shift per week throughout the 10 week tax season beginning on January 29th. Volunteer shifts will be available on Tuesday evenings from 5-8:30 and on Saturday mornings from 9am-12:30pm.
