New Opportunities of Greater Meriden is again offering 2 free programs for unemployed or underemployed individuals between the ages of 19 and 21. The sessions will run from October 2002 through May 2003. One program is customer service training, that provides training in computer skills as well as the communication and interpersonal skills required for customer contact roles that lead to customer satisfaction and the improved image of an organization. The second program is the Medical Billing Associate Certificate Program. It is designed for the specialty area of medical billing of the health care and insurance fields. It is designed to prepare the student with the in-demand administrative skills and office protocols required in order to compete and perform effectively in the billing area of the health care delivery and medical insurance fields. The program is sponsored by New Opportunities of Greater Meriden, Middlesex Community College, and the City of Meriden.
