Masonicare Home Health & Hospice Sponsoring Free Bereavement Support Group

September 13, 2011

Masonicare Home Health & Hospice is sponsoring a free, 8-session Bereavement Support Group for the community to be held during October, November and December.

Designed to help individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one, the support group will bring people together to share their experiences, offer support and encouragement to one another, and help each other adjust to a new world in the absence of loved ones. They will also discuss ways to cope with the upcoming holiday season. Group facilitators are Laura Polito, Masonicare's Hospice Bereavement Coordinator and Ned Castner, retired pastor/hospice bereavement volunteer.

The Bereavement Support Group, which is open to all, will meet on Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Masonicare at Ashlar Village, 74 Cheshire Road in Wallingford. The dates are as follows: October 6, 13, 20, 27; November 3, 10 and 17; and December 1. The group will meet in the private dining room in the Hartog Activities Center at Ashlar Village. (Bridgehouse Lobby entrance)

Although there is no charge to participate in the group, pre-registration is requested by Monday, October 3. Attendance is recommended for all eight sessions, if possible. For additional information or to sign up to attend, please call Laura Polito at 203-679-5327.
