Gallery 53 is happy to announce that this year their Irma. P Morse/ ACAM Art Scholarship will be awarded to Alyssa Ann Infante. Alyssa will be attending the New Hampshire Institute if Art in their Fine Arts Degree program where she will major in illustration.

Gallery 53 regretfully announces the passing of two notable Life Members of the Meriden Arts and Crafts Association:

Lillian Carney was a past president of the Arts and Crafts Association of Meriden, and has been a continual contributor and supporter of Gallery 53. Before becoming the past director at Gallery 53, Lillian was a director of an art gallery in New York City. Lillian hung the art for the Gallery exhibits. She was also member of the Brownstone Group and exhibited her work at their shows. Lillian was also known for her love of art, animals, politics and gardening. All will miss her presence.

Dorothy Fowler Blackall was an avid painter and participated in many art classes at the Gallery. She was also a volunteer. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening.

Gallery 53 is also proud to announce that Ellen Zimitravich, Bonnie Potter and John Deden have artwork hanging in the Secretary of State Denise Merrill's office.
