Kuhn Employment Opportunities held its Annual Awar ...

Kuhn Employment Opportunities held its Annual Awards and Recognition event at Mountainside of Wallingford to honor its participants with disabilities and employers. The September 2nd event held for Kuhn's Meriden-based programs included award ceremonies, food, music, sports and activities. While nearly 200 participants who receive Kuhn's vocational and community experience services enjoyed the day of recognition, four participants were honored as the top employees for the past year. Sal Gionfriddo from Independent Work Placement, Carl Curtis from Group Supportive Employment, Claire Salling from the Work Services team and Bill Yeske from the Community Experience Program were presented with awards. The honors recognized their vocational progress, effort and positive attitude. Robert Stephens, Executive Director of the Kuhn organization, also thanked the many employers of Kuhn who provided meaningful work to Kuhn participants during the year and presented special awards to two employers. Pep Boys of Berlin, who has employed a Kuhn participant for over three years, was awarded the Supported Employment Award. Smorstix of Madison, who has contracted with Kuhn for over three years, received the Work Services Award. In addition, Victoria Keating was presented with Kuhn's Volunteer of the Year Award recognizing her exceptional dedication. Kuhn Employment Opportunities is a nationally accredited not-for-profit employment agency for people with disabilities. Offices are located in Meriden and Middletown.
