March 23, 2005

It was with great pride that Dan Hunter, Executive Vice President and C.O.O. of Hunter's Ambulance accepted the ESGR Patriotic Employer Award and Certificate presented to Hunter's Ambulance on February 18, 2005. Rob Shaw, a Paramedic at Hunter's, just returned from his 1-year tour of military duty as a combat medic with the HSC 118th Medical Battalion stationed in Balad, Iraq. Ron Lee, Public Affairs Chairman for the Connecticut Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) presented this award to Hunter's Ambulance.

This award is presented to employers who enthusiastically support the men and women in the Guard and Reserve, and especially with regard to their return to employment following military service.

Prior to Rob's departure for Iraq, he completed a questionnaire commending Hunter's support of him and his upcoming tour of duty. During the presentation, Rob spoke highly of the Hunter's Ambulance management team and his co-workers and their overwhelming support of him before, during, and after his tour of duty. Hunter's Ambulance is proud of Rob and its entire staff who have been and who are currently on tour of duty.

The award reads: Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve We recognize the National Guard and Reserve as essential to the strength of our nation and the well being of our communities. In the highest American tradition, the patriotic men and women of the Guard and Reserve serve voluntarily in an honorable and vital profession. They train to respond to their community and their country in time of need. They deserve the support of every segment of our society. If these volunteer forces are to continue to serve our nation, increased public understanding is required of the essential role of the Guard and Reserve in preserving our national security. Their members must have the cooperation of all American employers in encouraging employee participation in the Guard and Reserve. Therefore, we join other employers pledging that: 1. Employment will not be denied because of service in the Guard or Reserve: 2. Employee job and career opportunities will not be limited or reduced because of service in the Guard or Reserve; 3. Employees will be granted leaves of absence for military service in the Guard or Reserve, consistent with existing laws, without sacrifice of vacation; 4. This agreement and its resultant policies will be known throughout our organization. Signed by: Dan M. Hunter, Hunter's Ambulance David Janes, Chairman of the National Committee ESGR Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense.

The certificate reads: The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recognizes Dan Hunter, Hunter's Ambulance Service as a Patriotic Employer for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America's National Guard and Reserve Forces. Signed by: Lewis Vasquez, Committee Chair of CT ESGR David Janes, Chairman of the National Committee ESGR Bob Hollingsworth, Executive Director of the National Committee ESGR.
