Girls Inc. will be losing its executive director of 19 years, Maureen Bilger. Maureen hopes to retire and pass the direction of the organization to Assistant Director Maria Trella Drauss. Maureen's many contributions to Girls Inc. are bringing in computers; getting dance, gymnastics and cooking programs for preschoolers; planting more trees and bringing in animals. Her Junior Leaders program taught girls to budget money on a trip, among other skills. Maureen's passion for children earned her the admiration of many in the community, including city officials, co-workers and her students. Helping girls grow up to be productive women has been Maureen's goal, at which she has succeeded admirably. She will be heartily missed by her organization and her community.
