In the announcement letter sent to Jon-Paul Venoit, President of Ashlar Village, the CCAC expressed their admiration for the efforts made by the staff, board members and residents who assisted in the preparation of the self-assessment report and for their involvement in the accreditation process. They also noted that Ashlar Village's voluntary participation in this national accreditation program demonstrates the organization's commitment to provide high quality services to their residents. In announcing the successful completion of the accreditation process, Venoit said, "Ashlar Village was one of the first communities of its kind in the state to receive this prestigious accreditation by CCAC. It is considered a "seal of approval" for our rigorous standards of excellence, from our outstanding recreational activities and fine dining to our quality healthcare services and financial strength. I am proud to work with a great team of caring, dedicated people who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care possible."

CCAC is the nation's only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities. Their accreditation program was established to help the public identify organizations that provide quality care and services with an ongoing commitment to excellence. It is based on the belief that accreditation promotes and maintains quality and integrity in the aging services profession. Through the re-accreditation process, which takes place every five years, organizations continue to look closely at themselves, assess the progress they have made in meeting their objectives, and set new goals for the future.

During the next five years, Ashlar Village will be required to remain in conformance with all of the standards set by CCAC. Adherence to these standards will be monitored through the completion and submission of the Annual Conformance to Quality Report (ACQR).

Ashlar Village is an affiliate of Wallingford-based Masonicare, the state's largest not-for-profit provider of senior-focused healthcare services and retirement living communities.
