Easter Seals Connecticut, Inc. Has been awarded an Outcomes Excellence Certificate from Focus On Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO�), a nationwide outcomes data base and reporting service for healthcare providers. These certificates are presented to a select group of providers across the country to recognize the excellence achieved in effectiveness of treatment during the past twelve months. Easter Seals Connecticut has demonstrated a greater increase in function for its patients than the national aggregate average.

FOTO has provided outcome data to healthcare providers since 1994. More than 1,000 organizations have contributed to the FOTO data base. "Easter Seals Connecticut has proven the quality of its care by exceeding the average performance data of all the progressive organizations across the country who are part of the FOTO network," according to Al Amato, President of FOTO.

Easter Seals Connecticut's Medical Rehabilitation services include physical, occupational and speech therapies, audiology and assessment at its State Street location, and serves more than 700 patients and 6,716 treatments from the greater Meriden community each year.

FOTO outcomes data are beneficial because they provide a benchmark measure for overall quality and value of the services offered by an organization. FOTO has the first Functional Health Status Measure approved for physical rehabilitation by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's list of approved quality measures in the National Quality Measures Clearinghouse (NQMC), a public repository for evidence-based quality measures sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), (www.qualitymeasures.ahrq.gov).

The mission of Easter Seals Connecticut is to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities or special needs, their families and communities.
