Masonic Healthcare Center Announces Recent Promotions

Masonic Healthcare Center of Wallingford announces two senior level promotions. Beatrice H. Coulombe, RN, MBA, MSN, was recently promoted to the position of Vice President for Administration and Administrator of Long-term Care. Melinda Schoen, RN, BS, MSN, was named Vice President for Nursing and Director of Nursing. William Piper, Masonic Healthcare Center President, made the announcement. "Ms. Coulombe has more than 30 years of experience in the long-term care field, serving as an administrator in long-term care in New Hampshire and Connecticut for more than 10 years. Prior to her promotion, she was Masonic Healthcare Center's Vice President for Patient Care Services and Administrator to the Acute Care Hospital Units. Ms. Coulombe received her RN training at Sacred Heart Hospital in Manchester, NH, and a BS in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph's College, Maine. She also earned both an MBA with a concentration in health care and an MSN from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Ms. Coulombe is a licensed nursing home administrator in the state of Connecticut, and throughout her career, she has served on the Board of Directors of numerous community service organizations and as a member of several professional associations. Ms. Coulombe resides in Wallingford with her husband, Gary, and their son, Mathew.

Ms. Schoen has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, and has been with Masonic Healthcare Center for more than 12 years. She was the Center's Assistant Director of Nursing prior to her promotion to Vice President. She graduated from St. Vincent's College as an RN and obtained a BS degree in nursing from Charter Oak State College. In 2007, she earned a Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Ms. Schoen is a member of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators. She and her husband, David, and their children are Wallingford residents. In making the announcement, Piper said, "Both Bea and Melinda have impressive backgrounds and many years of experience in the healthcare field. Their combined knowledge and superior clinical expertise, along with their outstanding leadership skills, have made them major assets to our organization in our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible care to our residents and patients."

Masonic Healthcare Center is a 382-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that offers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and provides special care for older adults in its two hospital level units. The Center is an affiliate of Wallingford-based Masonicare, Connecticut's leading not-for-profit provider of senior healthcare and retirement living. Other Masonicare affiliates include Ashlar Village, Ashlar of Newtown, Connecticut VNA, and The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut.
