On Wednesday, May 2nd, Castle Bank hosted a Business After Hours for the Chamber, as a celebration of its second anniversary as a home town bank. President & Chief Executive Officer Larry McGoldrick has planned two goals. The first is to build a strong financial institution, which is well underway, seeing the early successes of the bank. The second is to create economic and social health in Meriden. In February, the FDIC commended Castle Bank for offering 97 per cent of its small business loans to companies within its local market area. The staff has also been praised for their involvement in community organizations. Castle Bank began planning its organization in the 1990's when people complained about the lack of small, local banks. Many of those present at the reception praised the bank, its staff and its services.
