Nutmeg Financial, MHC Hires Craig W. Porter

Craig W. Porter has joined Nutmeg Financial, MHC as Vice President, Marketing Director. In this role, he is responsible for effectively overseeing all marketing and advertising functions of Nutmeg Financial, MHC and its wholly owned subsidiaries; Naugatuck Savings Bank and Sutherland Insurance Group."Craig brings a wealth of marketing knowledge to our organization due to his extensive marketing background" stated Deborah Wheelahan, Executive Vice President, Retail Banking. "His expertise will enable him to develop and implement marketing plans and strategies to improve customer loyalty and strengthen customer relationships through the promotion of products, services and goodwill.
Most recently, Mr. Porter was VP, Marketing Analytics Manager at NewAlliance Bank in New Haven, CT and previously held the position of VP, Marketing Manager at Farmington Bank in Farmington, CT.
Craig received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance from Western CT State University. He is a graduate of the CT School of Finance & Management, America's Community Bankers National School of Banking at Fairfield University and the ABA School of Bank Marketing and Management.
He received the designation of Certified Financial Marketing Professional in 2007 and was a Marketing instructor for the Center for Financial Training. Craig resides in Prospect with his wife Suzanne and daughters Katie and Kyla.
Nutmeg Financial, MHC is a non-stock mutual holding company formed in 2005 by Naugatuck Savings Bank. In 2005, John M. Sutherland Insurance, Inc. was added to the company, an agency operating in Naugatuck since 1915.
