Pulaski Elementary Tied for Gold Award of Distiction

Casimir Pulaski Elementary has tied for first in the nation, to be awarded the Healthier US Schools Challenge (HUSSC) Gold Award of Distinction, under new criteria established in 2012. The HUSSC is a five-year certification, which recognizes excellence in nutrition services provided and opportunities for physical education and activity that result in a healthier school environment. HUSSC award levels are Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Gold Award of Distinction.In Connecticut, there are only 216 awarded schools - 1 Gold Award of Distinction, 12 Silver, and 203 Bronze. Proudly, Meriden holds the only Gold Award of Distinction and 3 Silver awards, with three more schools in the application process.
