August 31, 2005

Gene Luchansky, Director of the Child Guidance Clinic for Central CT Inc. , is pleased to announce that Susan M. D'Orvilliers has accepted the newly created position of Development Fund Specialist. Susan brings over 20 years of Community and Development experience to the Child Guidance Clinic.

The Development Fund Specialist position is a result of several years of research by the Board of Directors. The position is funded by a $30, 000 three-year grant from the Napier Foundation of Meriden. The Napier Foundation's support of the position is critical to the success of building an ongoing Development Program for the Child Guidance Clinic. The Clinic is the largest provider of behavioral health services to children and their families in the Meriden, Wallingford, Southington and Cheshire communities, serving over 1,700 individuals annually.

The real problem Luchansky stated is that the agency receives about the same revenue as it did 10 years ago. However, we receive many more calls for intervention than we can provide with current funding levels. The position of development fund specialist will help to raise funds for ongoing programs and services while providing a valuable resource of funds for new programs and service in the future.
