Meriden Creates a Boards and Commissions Interest Form for the Public

July 21, 2020

MERIDEN- The City of Meriden has created an Boards and Commissions Interest Form for individuals who are interested in volunteering their services and become a part of a board and/or commission for Meriden. The Boards and Commissions Interest Form is a basic application that provides the Mayor's office with information about the applicant, their background and why they are interested in participating on a City-appointed Board or Commission.

"I am often asked by community members how they can volunteer and get more involved with our City," said Mayor Kevin M. Scarpati. "With this online form, it will make it easier for residents to let us know if they would like to volunteer and what their interests are. I would like to thank all of those residents who have served and continue to serve on these various committees. The great work we are doing in Meriden is not possible without your dedicated efforts!"

Individuals interested in the opportunity to become a part of a board or commission may apply at any time, regardless of whether there is a current opening, as resignations occur throughout the year. Please visit the City website to complete and submit your interest form. Forms submitted are public records which are available to the public upon request. The forms require disclosure of information about business and property interests in the community, political affiliation, and general background content. Boards and commissions may be regulatory, policy-setting and/or advisory. In all cases, members' contributions are vital to the Mayor, the City Council and the City. To view the list of Boards and Commissions with members and dates of appointment and term expirations visit, the City website. For questions or concerns, call the office of the Mayor at 203-630-6595.
