The applications for the Sanford S. Shorr Education Awards have been sent to area high schools (Platt, Maloney, Wilcox, Mercy, and Xavier). The deadline for return of the applications is February 28, 2006. If you are a Meriden resident and would like to apply for the education award, please obtain the application from one of the schools or you may download the application off of the Chamber web site: www.meridenchamber.com or call the Chamber office (203.235.7901). Four (4) $1,000 awards are given to a Meriden resident graduating from area high schools. Funds for one of the awards has been raised by the generous members of our Hispanic Chamber Members Outreach Committee. An additional $1000 may be awarded to a student returning to college for another year in a program compatible with the Chamber's mission. Certificates will be presented at the Chamber's 110th Annual Dinner to be held on April 6, 2006.
