Wilcox Students Compete at SkillsUSA - 20 Are Headed to Kansas City for Nationals!

On Friday, March 28, 2014, seventy-six Wilcox Tech SkillsUSA student competitors competed in the 37th Annual CT SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference at A.I. Prince Tech in Hartford in a variety of leadership and trade events. An at awards ceremony held that evening at the John Lyman Center of Performing Arts on the campus of SCSU, forty-five of those students were recognized for finishing first, second, third or in the Top 6 Medalist category for their respective events. Twenty of those students (*) will now move on to compete in six categories at the national level in Kansas City, Missouri on June 23, 2014 to June 28, 2014. One student is also slated to receive the Presidents Volunteer Service Award for completing 250 hours of community service in the community. The list below shows the students who are now Kansas City bound as well as other students who placed second, third and Top 6 in their events as well as our newly elected CT SkillsUSA State Officers and our chapter Ambassador who was selected for going above and beyond what is expected in order to make our SkillsUSA chapter a success.
