News Update and Important Information

As everyone knows, the last 7 or so weeks definitely have not gone as expected. This is typically our busy season with picture day, rehearsals, recitals and so much more excitement. Although, this year looks a little bit different we still want our students to be excited and know that they are a part of a loving and supportive community! Together we can get through this difficult time. All of our staff hopes that we have been and will continue to be a bright light during this dark time and that we are able to help yourselves and your children continue to have some sense of normalcy during this time. Although this year's recital may not look like it normally does we are working on a few different options so that the students can still perform! We are crossing our fingers and hoping this can take place at some point from mid to late June - with some restrictions in place of course. Please stay tuned as we will be sorting out some more details in the near future. If you still have not joined our closed Facebook Group, "Higher Movement Studio Families," please do so as it is a great way to connect with other studio families as well as hear about any upcoming news! Thank you again. We love and miss every single one of you. Important Dates - May 2020 Important Dates - May 2020 May 1st - Fall 2020 Registration Open to Current Dancers May 4th - 9th Pajama Week May 5th - Mothers Dance Rehearsal - 8 pm May 8th - 2017 Recital Watch Party - 12 pm May 15th - Fall Registration Open to the Public May 15th - 2018 Recital Watch Party - 12 pm May 17th - 2019 Recital Watch Party - 11 am May 17th - Higher Movement Studio Car Parade - Time TBD May 24th - Opening Number Rehearsal - 12 pm Recital Update Unfortunately, due to the stay at home order being extended, our recital, originally scheduled for May 17th, will be unable to happen that day. We are working to secure a location for mid-late June and will keep you posted as details evolve. Thank you for your patience and understanding and please know that we are going to do everything we can to make sure each student is able to perform in this year's recital. Higher Movement Apparel If anyone is interested in purchasing Higher Movement apparel, but has not yet ordered it, please let me know. I will get a list together of everyone who is interested and will try to get a full order in if there is enough interest! Thank you! Opening Number Rehearsals For anyone participating in our 2020 Opening Number, please note the remaining rehearsal dates - THERE WILL NOT BE A REHEARSAL THIS SUNDAY, MAY 3rd The following dates are new - we will not be having the May 9th rehearsal any more. Sunday, May 24th - 12 pm Please note all rehearsals will be 1 hour long All remaining rehearsals will be finalized as recital details are finalized Fall 2020 Class Schedule is Here! We are excited to announce that our Fall 2020 schedule is here and registration is NOW OPEN to our current dancers! If you are currently enrolled in one of our classes you can register for fall class(es) before the public! This is a great opportunity to be sure that you get the classes that you want before they fill up! If you were not enrolled in one of our 2019 dance classes you can register beginning on May 15th! Additionally, anyone who registers before our 2020 recital will be entered into a drawing for 1 free month's tuition in Fall 2020 which will be announced at our recital! Summer Camps & Classes Have you seen our Summer Camp, class & intensive schedules? If not, take a look below! You can also register online by visiting www.highermovementdance.com and selecting, "Register Now!" Additionally, you can find our Summer 2020 class schedule and 2020 intensive schedule below! Please remember if you are interested in participating in our performance team next year, one summer class per session and one summer intensive are required. Join us for a summer full of dance! Higher Movement Bingo Night THIS SATURDAY! On Saturday, May 2nd at 5:30 pm we will be hosting our very first Higher Movement Family Bingo night on ZOOM! Everyone is invited and we hope your families will join you as well. Please fill out the form below by clicking, "Sign up for Bingo!" and we will send you bingo cards prior to the event. We hope you will join us! P.S. There may or may not be some prizes involved!!! Sign Up for Bingo! Higher Movement Car Parade - Sunday, May 17th Since our recital was supposed to be on Sunday, May 17th we will be having a car parade instead! All dance families are welcome to participate. All you need to do is create a sign, hop in the car and drive on down to the studio!! The time is TBD, but as soon as we decide we will let you know. We hope to see everyone there - we miss you all! Recital Watch Parties! We are really missing recital season right now and are sure some of you are as well. To make this a little bit easier, we will be hosting 3 watch parties to watch our last 3 recitals on ZOOM! Interested in joining our Performance Team? We are so excited to have our Higher Movement Performance Team coming back for a second year! If you are interested please read below for more information. Anyone ages 6 and up that would like to participate is welcome to be a part of this special team. This unique opportunity is perfect for students who want to take more dance classes throughout the year, work on their technique and performance skills and be part of a team! Our performance team will begin meeting in September and the class is going to be held on Saturdays at 10:30 am. All students in this group will perform a separate dance in the May 2021 recital, as well as, participate in community events throughout the year. Requirements to Participate: � 2 4-week Summer Class � 1 Week of Summer Intensive � 1 Regular Class During the Fall Season � 1 Technique Class of your choice in the Fall � 3-4 Performance Commitments throughout the year Please note we highly recommend students attend one dance convention throughout the year as well, but it is not a requirement. As a member of this team, we expect that students lead by example while at the studio and events, wear proper attire to classes and are kind to their instructors and their peers. We are looking forward to a great 2020/2021 season and hope you will join us for our first ever Performance Team! If you would like to participate, please let us know.
