President David J. Rotatori has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ion Bank.

The announcement comes as Charles J. Boulier, III, Chief Executive Officer at Ion Bank retired at the end of the year. According to Boulier, "The Board, Corporators and Employees of Ion Financial, MHC and all of the affiliate companies are proud of David and all he has achieved during his time with the Company. He is so deserving of this promotion and the Company is fortunate to have a highly regarded banking professional, energetic executive leader and progressive strategic thinker as our next President & CEO. In 2018, utilizing his strong leadership skills, David directed the Ion Bank team in achieving the best financial results in our history while expanding into the Farmington region. Let me be the first to publicly congratulate him and wish him and the entire Ion team all the best in executing our mission to be an exemplary corporate citizen by passionately following our service philosophy and standards."

Rotatori, a lifelong resident of Naugatuck, started his financial career with Naugatuck Savings Bank (now Ion Bank) from 1990 to 1995 as an Accounting Clerk and Internal Auditor. Following that, David was a Senior Auditor at KPMG; Vice President, Assistant Controller at Webster Financial Corporation; and Vice President, Finance Officer at People's United Bank. He returned to Ion Bank in 2009 as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Administration Officer where he was responsible for commercial loan administration, compliance and loan review. In 2017, he was named President of Ion Bank. He holds a B.A. from Western Connecticut State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut. David is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Global Management Accountant with more than 28 years of experience in financial services organizations.

David is dedicated to his community, serving on the United Way Board of Directors and other roles, including past chair of the Annual Campaign and Treasurer. He also serves on the Board of Directors and is Treasurer of the Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation and is the President of the Ion Bank Foundation. David is a Board Member and Treasurer of Simply Smiles, Inc., a non-profit agency dedicated to building bright futures for impoverished children and their families on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe reservation and in Mexico.

He is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. Additionally he holds a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation that recognizes the unique role of combining accounting and financial expertise with strategic insight to guide better business decisions. David was also a coach for Naugatuck Youth Soccer and multiple youth basketball teams.

He currently resides in Naugatuck with his wife, Pam and daughters, Cara, Mia and Alena.

When asked about his new role, Rotatori said "I am the luckiest person I know. Few people get the support I had throughout my life.
