Unveiling Ceremony Held for Energy Saving Upgrades at the Meriden YMCA

An unveiling ceremony for cutting edge, new technology at the Meriden YMCA was held on Thursday, December 10, 2015. The new technology at the Meriden YMCA consists of a cogeneration system, energy efficient lighting and occupancy controls. "Installing a cogeneration system, energy efficient lighting and occupancy controls helps the Meriden YMCA achieve three goals," said John Benigni, CEO of the Meriden YMCA. "Our first goal is to provide our members with consistent excellent service. One benefit of the co-gen system is to ensure delivery of hot water for showers including during peak usage times. Second, saving on energy costs allows us to put more dollars towards our mission of strengthening our community with programs and services to help kids and families thrive.
