Little Chefs Cooking Classes at the Meriden YMCA

The Meriden YMCA announces the Winter Schedule for our fun cooking program for children called Little Chefs Cooking Classes. This 5 week program is designed for children ages 4 to 12 to give them hands on cooking experience. The best part is children get to eat their own creation! Classes are held at our South Meriden facility at 145 South Main Street in our huge kitchen - lots of room to cook and create! Our instructor Sue Thornton has over ten years of culinary experience. Some of the recipes the children have made include: Caterpillars, Haystacks, Caramel apples, Worms in Dirt, Pretzels, Orange Snowball Cookies, Pigs in Blankets, Turkeys (made with fruit!), delicious soup (with the older children), and more. Classes are on Mondays from January 4th through February 1st. Class times are as follows: age 4 to 6 meets from 4 to 4:45 p.m., age 7 to 9 from 5 to 5:45 p.m., and age 10 to 12 from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. Fees are $34 for a full member and $54 for a program member.
