October 21, 2002

The Meriden YMCA will be hosting a "Holiday Presence" Auction on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 from 7:00 - 10:00 PM at the Augusta Curtis Cultural Center. The event promises to be a very elegant affair with wonderful items up for auction, including theater tickets, cooking lessons, tennis lessons, vacation packages, a winery tour with overnight stay, art work, dinners, sporting event tickets, and much more. The proceeds will go directly to scholarship children who might not otherwise be able to afford participation in camp, child care and other youth programs. The goal is to raise $20,000. To reserve your paddle for the event, please contact the Meriden YMCA at 203-235-6386. There will also be a silent auction.

Meriden YMCA Corporate Volleyball League: Play officiated volleyball games in the Meriden YMCA gymnasium on the power Volleyball Net. Cost is $395 per team. Entrance fee includes 12 t-shirts, 10 fully officiated games and trophies for championship team in each division starting the week of January 6, 2003. The A Division plays Monday nights 6:00-10:00 PM and the B Division plays Wednesday nights 6:00 - 10:00 PM. Registration begins at the Y in early December. For more information, please contact John Benigni at the YMCA at 203-235-6386.
