June 22, 2020

The Meriden Public Library Board of Trustees announces the hiring of Clevell "Cle" Roseboro II as the new Director of Library Services for the City of Meriden effective Monday, June 15, 2020.

Roseboro has an extensive library experience and served most recently as Director of the Willington Public Library in Connecticut. Roseboro has held a director and leadership role within the library of numerous Universities including: Felician University, Delaware State University, Lincoln University, Saint Augustine's University, North Carolina Central University and Winston Salem State University.

"Cle is a unique individual with a wealth of knowledge in library services," said Library Board of Trustees President Joan Edgerly. "His extensive library background, passion for community engagement and eagerness to work in a diverse city will be beneficial to our community and programs as a whole. The Library Board and I look forward to seeing Cle continue the great work here at the City of Meriden."

"With much enthusiasm and gratitude, I am excited to be afforded the high honor and role of leading the Meriden Public Libraries exceptional library team," said Clevell ‘Cle' Roseboro. "I am confident we will achieve phenomenal results. When I imagine the possibilities, my mind naturally thinks that Meriden Public Libraries will evolve in essence as like a physical and virtual Spaceship; enabling our patrons to take-off and explore anywhere in the information galaxy."

Roseboro earned a Master's degree in Library Science from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Science from Winston Salem State University. Roseboro is also a U.S. Veteran who was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army where he received numerous accolades and recognition for his work ethics and service.

Roseboro will relieve Interim Director, Marian Amodeo, who was appointed in February 13, 2020, of her duties during the month of June.
