TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP EXPANDS MILITARY APPRECIATION INITIATIVES: Free Admission Now Available to All U.S. Veterans and Their Immediate Family Members

The Travelers Championship today announced it is expanding its Military Appreciation program to now include free admission for all U.S. veterans and their immediate family members, sponsored by Bear's Smokehouse BBQ. This is in addition to free admission the tournament has offered to all active, reserve and retired U.S. service members and their dependents."This is one small way we can thank the brave men and women of the U.S. military for their courage and dedication to our country," said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. "We welcome past and present service members to enjoy golf and camaraderie with other military personnel at our event. We are grateful to Bear's Smokehouse BBQ for making this possible."

"The tournament exemplifies what it means to 'give back' to the community, and Bear's Smokehouse is honored to be part of this event. The opportunity to sponsor free admission to veterans naturally ties to the charitable work Bear's does throughout the year to support our military community, and we look forward to celebrating their service at the Travelers Championship."
Military Appreciation at the Travelers Championship began in 2009 with the support of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. It is a weeklong salute to military personnel and their families offering free admission and unlimited access to the Patriots' Outpost Wednesday through Sunday. This complimentary, climate-controlled venue will offer food from Bear's Smokehouse BBQ. Other sponsors of Military Appreciation include ConnectiCare�, Connoisseur Radio, Kaman Corporation, Mohegan Sun and New Haven Register.
This year's field includes defending champion and past major winner Bubba Watson, 2007 champion Hunter Mahan, Paul Casey, Charley Hoffman, and major winners Zach Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen, Keegan Bradley and Webb Simpson.
