Simina Ionescu, MD, Joins Medical Staff at Masonicare Primary Care Physicians

A specialist in adult healthcare issues, Dr. Ionescu's primary role with the practice is to conduct comprehensive evaluations of the cognitive, emotional and physical functions of older adults through Masonicare's outpatient Geriatric Assessment Pathways Program. Following an in-depth assessment, Dr. Ionescu and staff will make recommendations and follow up with individuals and their families to maximize function and community living.

Dr. Ionescu, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, received her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. Prior to joining Masonicare, Dr. Ionescu was a geriatric attending physician at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, where she performed geriatric assessment in inpatient and outpatient settings. She also served as Clinical Education Coordinator for Geriatric Fellows. Dr. Ionescu and her husband and their two children are residents of New Haven.

Masonicare Primary Care Physicians is located at 67 Masonic Avenue, just off Route 150 on the Masonicare campus in Wallingford. The practice has been providing internal medicine services to adults 18 and over since 1997.
