Gallery 53 Artist of the Month

Christine Webster an award winning pastel artist and photographer is Gallery 53's May Artist of the Month. Chris was an art educator in Meriden for 35 years and a state of Connecticut Teaching Artist. She continues to share her talent teaching classes at the Gallery and adult education in Meriden.

Another phase of her artistic journey included many new avenues. In 2013, the Meriden Arts Council chose her as Artist of the Year. In 2012 working with high school students Chris helped in the design and creation of the ornaments for the national tree in Washington D.C.

Her current artistic passion is fused glass jewelry and mosaics. Visit Gallery 53 to see a display of her current works.
