Art Events at Gallery 53 in May

April 13, 2014

Gallery 53, a part of the Arts and Crafts Association of Meriden, will host a mother daughter art show May 9-16. Art work by Ellie Bender and Chris Bender Webster will be on display. Ellie Bender is a nationally known pastel artist who specializes in portraits. Chris Bender Webster is a former Meriden art teacher, art instructor at Gallery 53 and current President of Gallery 53. Chris will exhibit art works in various media. The public is invited to attend the opening reception, May 9 from 5-8 PM.

An exhibit by local artists Bonnie Potter, John Deden and Neil Scollan will be on display May 20 -30. For opening reception information contact Gallery 53 at 203-235-5347.

As part of Gallery 53's recognition of local talent art work from Platt High School students will be on display during the month. The Artisan Gift Shop is open during all Gallery 53 hours: Tuesday - Friday 12 - 4, Saturday 10 -2.
