First Friday at Gallery 53 a Big Success

February 20, 2008

Following suite of larger galleries and museums, Gallery 53 has been opening it's doors after hours to the general public to enjoy some wine, hors d'oeuvres, music, and fine arts and crafts at 53 Colony Street, Meriden. From 5 - 7 PM every first Friday of the month, the members meet and greet friends, family, the business community and public officials to educate them as to what ACAM and the Gallery offers the surrounding communities. "It's great fun and it's wonderful to see all of the beautiful work these talented people bring to our lives", says Chris Ivers, one of the Committee Chairs on the Board of Directors. "We have a wealth of classes for both children and adults and are constantly striving to educate the community as to the importance of Art in their lives." The inaugural First Friday featured live music by Matt Nozzolio and Jon Swift who played Blues and Blue Grass music and was sponsored by Prudential CT Realty of Wallingford. The Gallery's Permanent Collection was on display for all to see and the Gallery Shoppe, which features one of a kind handmade jewelry, pottery, paintings, and clothing accessories was also open.

Any business or agency that wishes to sponsor a First Friday in the future can contact Chris Ivers, Ivers & Associates Advertising at 203-235-1417. The Gallery is also available for business or corporate meetings.
