Gallery 53 is presenting two exhibits in June. The first, "Inspirational Gardens," includes a wide variety of garden paintings (oils, pastels, watercolors) and other artworks, all priced to help support the Gallery, with 10% of sales donated to Meriden's Friends of the Library. The show dates are June 4 (Reception, 3-4 p.m.) through June 16. On Sunday, June 19 (Father's Day), the Gallery will hold a reception (1-3 p.m.) for an exhibit of pottery by Gary O'Neil and monoprints by his daughter, Kyle. This exhibit will be shown till the end of June. Gary has taught pottery for many years in Meriden schools and is now teaching at Wesleyan Potters. Kyle is receiving much attention with her exciting and detailed monoprints. The Gallery is located at 53 Colony Street, Meriden. Hours are 12 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 12 to 8 p.m. on Thursday; and 10 to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Call 203-235-5347 for more information on these exhibits, on the art classes and workshops planned for the summer, and on the availability of space for meetings of local organizations.
