Meriden's only independent community bank celebrated its third Anniversary with a successful Business After Hours on June 1st. The bank décor reflects Meriden's history, with photos of other independent banks that are no longer in existence. President and Chief Executive Officer Larry McGoldrick opened Castle Bank in 1999 with a dozen employees. Today there is a second branch on East Main Street , 450 shareholders and a 17-member board of directors. In addition to door prizes, merriment and delicious refreshments, a highlight of the program was the retirement of Senior Vice President Joyce Ragozzino, one of the bank's founders and an active member of the Chamber.
